Introduction to The Movable Book Society
The Movable Book Society was organized in 1993 to provide a forum for collectors, artists, curators, book sellers, book producers and others to share enthusiasm and exchange information about pop-up and movable books. The Society has nearly 450 members worldwide.
MBS holds biennial conferences in different areas of the USA. Previous conferences were held in New Jersey, Los Angeles, New York, Milwaukee, Santa Fe, Chicago, and Washington, DC. At each conference, The Society presents The Meggendorfer Prize to the best paper engineered book of the previous two years.
The next conference is scheduled for Denver, Colorado, October 1-3, 2020. The agenda will be chock full of interesting and fun lectures, workshops and trips. Click here for 2018 Conference Information to see a sample of our agenda.
